The Turquoise Riviera is just as stunning as the name suggests, with luminous blue-green ocean waves lapping at isolated coves and beaches that range from multicolored polished marble pebbles to miles of yellow sand. Spectacular archaeological ruins are never far away.
This part of Turkey's coast is home to some of the country's most iconic beaches—like Ölüdeniz, Patara, and Iztuzu—it's also the place to find spectacular ruins from ancient cities of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine origin. Termessos, known as the Eagle's Nest, is said to have defied Alexander the Great because he was daunted by its height, and the Roman theater ins Apsendos rivals the Colisseum in Rome.
