Fodor's Review

From the acropolis of Tlos, you can glimpse the view of Xanthos Valley to the west—a rich agricultural area both in ancient times and today. Mountains cradle Ylos's Roman Theater, with an 18th-century Ottoman fortress at the summit. Below the fortress, off a narrow path, is a cluster of rock tombs. Note the relief here of Bellerophon, son of King Glaucus of Corinth, mounted on Pegasus, his winged steed. The monster he faces is the dreaded Chimera—a fire-breathing creature with a lion's head, goat's body, and serpent's tail. Beside the acropolis is a large flat agora, with seats on one side from which spectators watched footraces.
