Fodor's Review

The ruins of ancient Kadyanda, a short drive north of Fethiye, are a pleasant day-trip destination in the heat of summer, rendered both cool and atmospheric by the evergreen trees that have grown amid the ruins. You enter past some tombs to a large agora, behind which is a well preserved running track and a collapsed temple. Heading back down the trail, you'll pass a large Roman theater, its stones crumbling out of formation. Watch out for the frequent large holes left by treasure hunters; wear sneakers if possible. Poised on a remote shady ridge at more than 3,000 feet, the site is uphill from the mountain village of Üzümlü, which has some interesting old houses.
