Hera Hotel Review

Bergama's most attractive lodging is a favorite with couples on romantic retreats as well as visiting archaeologists, and all are made equally welome by the multilingual owner—a mine of local information. The beautifully maintained 200-year-old stone house is hidden among the cobbled, winding lanes of crumbling Talatpaşa neighborhood, on the slopes of the Acropolis-crowned hill. The well-appointed rooms, each named after a Greek god or goddess, surround a courtyard. Friendly owner Mehibe speaks French, English, and some German, and always takes time to introduce her guests to local wines and cheeses in the atmospheric, low-ceilinged, subterranean wine bar.
