Fodor's Review

To fully appreciate why Bursa is called Green Bursa, take the 30-minute trip up the teleferik (gondola lift), a 15-minute bus or dolmuş ride from Heykel, to Sarıalan point in lush Uludağ Milli Parkı. This terminus has panoramic views and is lively in summer, with restaurants and picnic areas. In winter it serves as a staging point for skiers and night-clubbers heading to the mountain's hotel area 7 km (4 miles) farther up (see

for information). Take a sweater or jacket, as temperatures fall dramatically as you climb, even when it's warm downtown. There are also various walking paths up the mountain between Bursa and Uludağ; the hike takes about three hours each way.
