This charming shop in the center of Turgutreis sells handicrafts and other homemade wares by the members of a local women’s cooperative: jams, jewelry, textiles, wood decorations, stained-glass artworks, and more.

Eski Tütün Dükkanı

Colorful and often quirky jewelry, sculptures, plates, lamps, and other objects by Turkish designers fill this stone-walled shop in Alaçatı’s popular Hacımemiş neighborhood. Like many other small boutiques in town, you may find it closed during the daytime and open late into the evening, when the most people are out and about.

Gemici Alaçatı

A huge variety of locally produced and nicely packaged herbs, jams, wines, and other culinary treats, along with small housewares like olive-wood coasters, are for sale at this big, bright store on the main street leading into central Alaçatı. Prices are surprisingly good considering its prime location in this expensive town.

Gümüş Kediler

Designer Şükran Uyar, a longtime fixture at the Gümüşlük handicrafts market, now has her own shop selling cotton beachwear and other textile goods, mostly with colorful block-printed designs.

This large shop on a residential street a few blocks back from the Türkbükü shorefront is filled with all kinds of natural, often regional, products: jams, olive oils, dried fruits and vegetables, sauces, soaps, gift baskets, and more. It's perfect for food gifts to take home.

İpekçe

All of the colorful linens, beachwear, jewelry, bags, and household accessories at this small boutique on Türkbükü's main waterfront road are designed by owner İpek Özdoğu and her team. They also have a shop in Alaçatı.

Kikkula

This charming, airy shop is filled with beautiful objects—lamps, bowls, notebooks, jewelry—made from paper by a friendly and talented husband-and-wife team. Graphic designer Tuna and former art teacher Uta are happy to chat about their work; they also sell some paintings, sculptures, and other pieces by other artists, but, they say, “only things we like looking at ourselves.” Open year-round except when they’re traveling to buy more unique papers from all over the world.

Sabuncakiz’s Hamam

This lovely shop is a scented wonderland of beautiful hand-made soaps, Turkish bath towels, bath accessories, and other textiles, including beach towels and shawls. The owner has an Etsy shop, too.

Sur Sandalet

Bodrum's handmade leather sandals are renowned, and this family-run workshop has been turning them out, in both basic and decorative styles, since 1967. Lightweight and made from specially worked leather, they're very comfortable for the Mediterranean summer, and aesthetically pleasing as well.

Sleek bowls and elaborately detailed cups are among the many kinds of handmade ceramic housewares and decorations you’ll find in this airy shop in Alaçatı. Designer Gül Alper and her team can even make ceramics to your own design in their on-site workshop.
