Sultanahmet Fish House
Sultanahmet Fish House Review
There are no obsequious waiters at Sultanahmet Fish House, no fancy dress code—just good, well-prepared, fairly priced seafood served in a friendly atmosphere. The mainly seafood mezes include sardines, octopus, and mackerel in olive oil, while mains comprise a range of fish and a few kebabs; sea bass with saffron, cooked in a terracotta casserole, is a particular standout. Light blue and yellow walls, multicolored antique lamps hanging from the ceiling, and colorful nomad textiles make for an inviting atmosphere.

We had a fairly memorable meal here with the service of our salt encrusted fish. It was set afire and they used a hammer and chisel to get at the fish. It was very moist and tasty. For dessert we had a hot halvah with ice cream. We really enjoyed this.
