Hala Manti
Hala Manti Review
As its name suggests, this restaurant on busy Istiklal Caddesi specializes in ravioli-like manti, small pockets of pasta filled with ground meat; hingal, a variation eaten in the Caucasus with a cheese and potato filling, is also served. Gözleme, a type of very thin flatbread filled with ingredients such as cheese and spinach, then cooked on huge griddles as you watch, are very good; other options include tasty home-style vegetable and meat dishes and kebabs. With bare wooden tables and paper napkins, the atmosphere is simple but homey. No alcohol is served.
