This little eatery on a quiet side street in Sultanahmet's main tourist area offers good food at reasonable prices, including a range of salads and meat dishes from a menu that spans Turkey and the globe. Particularly interesting are the dishes from Turkey's Kurdish and Armenian communities, such as papaz yahnisi, a Byzantine stew of lamb, potatoes, and pumpkin cooked in a terra-cotta dish. The cozy interior, formerly the site of a book bindery, has Ottoman-style chimneys, Byzantine-style arches, exposed brick walls, and hand-painted frescoes on the walls. In summer you can sit outside at tables on the sidewalk.

My wife and I loved this place. First of, we stopped by late in the afternoon to look at the menu. This was the first restaurant in Istambul that the waiter did not pressure us to sit down and have a meal.
We came back for dinner and loved the food. We shared an appetizer: grilled vegetables and it was enough for 2 and it was delicious. We both had different lamb dishes and they were also very tasty.
It is in a very nice location close to Haya Sofia and the tram. Lots of cafes and small hotels add charm to the neighborhood.
Excellent service as well.
