This waterside neighborhood at the south end of the Galata Bridge is the transportation hub of old Istanbul. There are quays for hydrofoil sea buses, the more traditional Bosphorus ferries (including those for the day-long Bosphorus cruises), and the Sirkeci train station and tramway terminal. The main coastal road around the peninsula of the Old City also traverses Eminönü. Thousands of people and vehicles rush through the bustling area, and the many street traders here sell everything from candles to live animals.
