Doy-Doy

Doy-Doy Review

Doy-doy is a Turkish expression for "full" and, unlike many other places in tourist-filled Sultanahmet, you can indeed fill up for a reasonable sumat this no-frills spot frequented by locals. A variety of kebabs and pide, a type of Turkish pizza baked in a wood-burning oven, with different toppings are served, and the lunchtime specials, including vegetable stew, meatballs, and eggplant and meat moussaka, are a particularly good deal. The two-level rooftop terrace, open in summer, has fine views of the Blue Mosque and Sea of Marmara—but don't expect to savor the view with a drink in hand, as no alcohol is served.

My title says it all. The food and prices were average for what we ate in Istanbul. The view of the Blue Mosque from the top terrace was neat!
