Named after an ancient Anatolian fertility goddess, this charming hotel is one of Sultanahamet's most unusual, thanks to its incredible profusion of antique lamps—4,000 at last count—that hang from the ceilings. The lobby, lit by 1,002 of the lamps, looks like a Victorian parlor, with overstuffed antique furniture and kilims. Rooms are small but imaginatively decorated. There's a little garden in the back (though no view) and a restaurant in the front. Three computers can be used by guests. Alparslan Akbayrak, the gregarious and helpful owner, is as much of a fixture in the hotel as all the lamps. Pros: unique decor and atmosphere; friendly staff. Cons: no roof terrace or elevator; ornate, lamp-filled rooms may not appeal to everyone.
