What was once the home of an extended Armenian family has been turned into a stylish and comfortable boutique hotel. The standard rooms are small but bright, with framed reproductions of Ottoman-era artwork and large windows, most of which look out toward the Blue Mosque. Deluxe rooms have a separate sitting area with a sofa and pillows, and some have walk-in closets and full bathtubs. A new section of the hotel has additional deluxe rooms and an inviting new lobby, as well as a rooftop terrace that has glorious views of Sultanahmet and the Blue Mosque. The personable staff helps ensure a relaxing atmosphere. Pros: location just off Hippodrome; ambience and decor; excellent breakfast. Cons: the non-deluxe rooms and their bathrooms are small.
