There are no obsequious waiters at Sultanahmet Fish House and no fancy dress code—just good, well-prepared seafood served in a friendly atmosphere. The mainly seafood mezes include sardines, octopus, and mackerel in olive oil, while mains comprise a range of fish and a few kebabs. Fish preparations go beyond the standard grilling and frying: sea bass with saffron, cooked in a terracotta casserole, is a particular standout. Light blue and yellow walls, multicolored antique lamps hanging from the ceiling, and colorful nomad textiles create an inviting atmosphere. There is also a small section of sidewalk seating out front.
