The quiet and dusty little town of Kâhta is nobody’s favorite place in Turkey and is really nothing more than a good base for exploring Mt. Nemrut. There are a few good hotels and places to eat, but nothing to see.

The construction of the large Atatürk Dam and the resulting rising waters have meant that Kâhta is now a lakeside town, and a number of restaurants have taken

advantage of this, opening up near the water, which makes a pleasant setting for a meal.
