The fanciest restaurant in Avanos has a covered upstairs terrace and a tavernlike interior where local wines are displayed on huge racks. Kilims and pottery hang from the stone walls, and lanterns placed in niches add to the ambience. The delicious but heavy house specialty is bostan kebabi, chicken, turkey, or beef cooked with mushrooms, eggplant, onions, and peppers, topped with cheese, and served in a clay pot. Vegetable appetizers in olive oil and a variety of meat dishes dominate the rest of the menu.
