ZVV, the tram service in Zürich, is swift and timely. It runs from 5:30 AM to midnight, every 6 minutes at peak hours, every 12 minutes at other times. All-day passes cost 7.20 SF and can be purchased from the same vending machines at the stops that post maps and sell one-ride tickets; you must buy your ticket before you board. Free route plans are available from VBZ Züri-Linie (Zürich Public Transport) offices, located at major crossroads (Paradepl., Bellevue, Central, Limmatpl.) Stops are clearly signposted. The Zurich Card (15 SF) gets you 24 hours of travel in the greater Zürich area on all trams, buses, trains, boats, cable cars and cog-wheel trains, plus free entry into over 40 museums. It's available from Tourist information (Hauptbahnhof, Kreis 1, CH-8023. 044/2154000)
