Zunfthaus zur Waag

Zunfthaus zur Waag Review

With its magnificent Renassance-inspired facade, this airy guildhall, with whitewashed woodwork and leaded-glass windows looking out to the Fraumünster, remains a lovely dining spot. The Zunft-Saal (guildhall) is a pine-wood showpiece, which greatly outshines the main restaurant—a rather dull Biedermeier room. The kitchen offers light, seasonal dishes such as fillet of perch in almond butter with spinach, or glazed lamb cutlets in port sauce with vegetables and potato-dough pasta. To drink in the impressive architecture, opt for outside tables on the edge of the cobblestone square in warm weather.
