Just a few blocks from the lake, the wide open spaces of the city's first American-style luxury hotel are accented in black marble, rich maple, and lots of gleaming glass. Rooms have parquet floors with soft carpets, burgundy and beige fabrics on the furnishings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Locals frequent the restaurant, which uses only local seasonal ingredients for dishes such as caramelized halibut with pine nuts and beef tenderloin with white-truffle risotto.
