Leonhardstr. 1, Zürich, 8001, Switzerland
From the cowhide-covered front desk to the edelweiss-print curtains, this budget hotel revels in its Swiss roots, but balances this indulgence with no-nonsense conveniences such as built-in pine furniture and tile baths (albeit with cow-print shower curtains). There isn't much space to stretch out, though, and the furnishings sometimes show their age. The adjoining restaurant, Crazy Cow, slings its own Swiss kitsch (Röstiburgers) in an over-the-top display of milk cans, miniature Matterhorns, and the ubiquitous black-and-white bovines.
- very friendly service
- close to the action but quiet
- small rooms
- the cow motif gets a little tired
