Fodor's Review

The stone-paved square is dominated by the massive post office and the former Franciscan Église St-François (Church of St. Francis), built during the 13th and 14th centuries. From 1783 to 1793, Edward Gibbon lived in a house on the site of the post office and there finished his work on The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
