It's not unusual to mistake similar Belle Epoch architecture and repeating yellow awnings for the Palace down the street. Half the size and less ritzy, the Majestic has a gracious ambience of its own plus the convenience of being across the street from the train station and in the heart of shopping and dining. Rooms have crown molding and fireplaces; lake views are definitely worth the extra charge. At the lively terrace restaurant, you can dine perched above the hubbub; the station-side café is great for people watching.
