Lausanne Guest House

Fodor's Review:

This tidy 19th-century town house not far from the train station is run by a brother-and-sister team. Rooms are spread over five floors—some private with baths, others dorm-style with shared showers and toilets. You can prepare meals in the community kitchen or on the outdoor grill, or get caught up at the Internet corner with multiple terminals. The guesthouse is ecologically conscious, using solar heating and a special ventilation system, which makes smoking off-limits.
