Vaud Nightlife

Lausanne is one of the art capitals of Switzerland, sharing with Geneva the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. It has an opera company and also hosts the great ballet company of Maurice Béjart. The event season generally runs from September to May; summer brings outdoor concerts and more casual events. The city's nightlife is centered in the Flon or place St-François neighborhoods.

Montreux's famous festivals and arts events are listed in a seasonal booklet published by the tourist office; tickets are sold from its booth at the waterfront. In the summer, Montreux offers a variety of free outdoor concerts from its bandstand on the waterfront near the landing stage.
