The views aren't bad at this lunch-only mountaintop restaurant right off the Spielboden cable car, which boasts a modern Alpine look with wood-beamed ceilings hung with chandeliers. Focusing on Valais wines, this elegant lodge is decidedly upscale, serving a lot more than the usual fondue and raclette. Lobster bisque, braised Swiss water buffalo wth potato mousseline, and grilled scallops on conchiglie pasta with slow-cooked curry up the ante for mile-high cuisine. Just make sure you don't miss the last cable car back into town, which usually leaves at 4:30 pm, or you'll be burning off all that food with a long, steep hike.
