Churm 21, Zermatt, 3920, Switzerland
Among the scores of anonymously modern hotels along the Zermatt plain, this modest structure is not only a great deal in a pricey town, butlocated directly above the town center, a block up a narrow (and steep) mazot-lined lane. Its tidy, bright gardens, game trophies, and granite stove give it personality. You can also stay in one of the two Walliserstadel, charming 200-year-old huts in the garden. Keep in mind that this is a garni hotel (no restaurant), so only breakfast is served.
- quiet, yet only a stone's throw from the trendiest nightlife
- big balconies and windows
- overly kitschy murals in lobby
- most double beds are two twins side by side—leaving lovebirds divided
Rate Includes: Breakfast
