Central Hotel Verbier

Pl. Centrale, Verbier, 1936, Switzerland

This cozy hotel certainly lives up to its name—it's one of the most central in town, and you'll see exterior signage on the honey-colored building as you stand on Verbier's traffic circle. Locating the upstairs side entrance, however, is more difficult; especially when it's obscured by vacationers filling TBar, the downstairs indoor-outdoor hot spot for light lunch and drinks. In the modern guest rooms, renovated in 2013, chocolate-colored woods contrast with stark-white walls accented with chrome lighting; some bathrooms feature Jacuzzi tubs. The rooms were recently soundproofed, and draped windows buffer the noise from the animated crowd circulating below, but don't take a room on the first floor if you want to avoid the noise entirely.

CONS
