Aletsch Panorama Trail. From Brig catch a train to the Betten Talstation cable car, which will whisk you up to Bettmeralp. A gondola takes you to about 8,700 feet up the Bettmerhorn. From there, expect to climb about 1,300 vertical feet and drop more than 2,700 on this 11-km (7-mile) route, arriving at a cable car to take you back to train service in Fiesch. The trail takes you along the massive Aletsch Glacier, through a valley dotted with pristine Alpine lakes. Along the way, stop at the Gletscherstube, a rustic hut set near the Märjelensee, at 8,640-feet, where you can get a bed for the night to prolong the adventure. Valais.
