In terms of style, this five-star lakeside resort has multiple personalities—its most traditional rooms, for example, are in the Art Nouveau main building, which dates back to 1875. On the other side of the Japanese garden, a completely modern building features huge suites with funky furnishings and generous balconies. The Schlössli (little castle) is also home to a number of suites, including a palatial one named after former guest Mark Twain. Two gourmet restaurants offer a variety of cuisines, and a wine cellar offers tastings and other events. The heated outdoor pool and private beach with lounge chairs encourage guests to drink in the mountain and lake views. An in-house spa tempts you with Tibetan treatments.
