By Car in Geneva

Geneva's long border with France makes for easy access from all points French. Paris (to the northwest) is six hours away; Dijon (to the north), Lyon (to the southwest), Grenoble (to the south), and Chamonix (to the southeast) are all within two hours' drive on the French A40 expressway (l'Autoroute Blanche). The French south shore of Lac Léman gives access to the Valais via Evian-les-Bains. The Swiss A1 expressway, along the north shore, connects Geneva to the rest of Switzerland by way of Lausanne.
