Flocked wallpaper, creaky parquet floors, chandeliers, fireplaces, ornate ceilings, Jet d'Eau views, and breakfast in bed serve as reminders that this kindly budget hotel one block from the lake was once a plush private apartment. Today all eight rooms have light yellow walls and light blue duvets, five have modular bathrooms with shower, and two overlook a quiet courtyard. Owner Christian Chabbey doubles as an informal concierge.

I was excited to stay at this hotel after reading all the great reviews. Under the advice of all the reviews to book early, I made the booking for the 2 nights of Jan 19-20 on November 10, so, over 2 months beforehand. (I actually made my initial inquiry about rooms even earlier than that date, but my booking was confirmed on Nov. 10).
On Dec. 14. I get an email from them telling me that they gave me the wrong price, and that the room is actually more. I tell them I'll pay the difference without even commenting on the unprofessionalism of them increasing the price.
On Dec. 15 I get another email telling me that they "must cancel the reservation. My college has taken another reservation same time and booked all our 8 rooms." I had made my reservation over 2 months in advance, but someone else got the room???
Needless to say, I was extremely annoyed. I searched for another hotel right away, but realized that many were booked up because the dates that I wanted were in very high season.
I had even initially waited to ensure that I had this hotel before I booked my travel plans. I would have planned my trip differently.
Be wary of dishonesty and unprofessionalism with these people.
