The designers of this intimate Belle Epoque jewel near the Plaine de Plainpalais took their cue from the restored ceiling painting by the side entrance, then got all the details right. Stained-glass lamps, ivy-clad wall sconces, period paintings, and curved wood accent the rose-and-green public areas. Guest rooms have blue-and-yellow stenciling, art nouveau bath tiles, fluffy bathrobes, and Crabtree & Evelyn bath products. The clublike bar has mahogany paneling, leather chairs, and cigars but the headliner here is the hotel restaurant, a lime-green and cobalt-blue knockout swagged with Art Nouveau garlands that glows under 19th-century globe lamps—a true work of art.
