Massive scrubbed-stone arches, swirled wrought-iron sconces, brass accents, warm colors, lush carpets, and the immediate proximity of high-voltage rue du Rhône shopping give this 1854 Left Bank palace an air of urban gentility and center-city bustle. Rooms have espresso machines, broad stripes, and triple-glazed windows; bathrooms in executive rooms and suites each have a TV perched in a watertight alcove. The wraparound view from the roof is much envied during Fêtes de Genève fireworks.
