Getting Here and Around

To connect with Gruyères via public transport, buses from Fribourg are your best bet. Take a bus to Bulle, and change to another bus that heads directly to Gruyères (a trip of 1 hour 15 minutes). Alternatively, take the bus to Bulle, then change to a train and get off at the town of Gruyères in front of the cheese dairy La Maison du Gruyère. Walk up to the town (approximately 15 minutes). This option takes one hour, and there are hourly connections. If training from Lausanne or Zürich, transfer to a local train at Palézieux—this rail journey takes up to about five hours.
