By Car in Berner Oberland

Swift and scenic roads link both Bern and Zürich to Interlaken. From Bern, the autoroute A6 leads to Spiez, then A8 continues as the highway to Interlaken. From Zürich, the planned autoroute link with Luzern (Lucerne) is incomplete; travel by Highway E41 south, then pick up the autoroutes A4 and A14 in the direction of Luzern. South of Luzern, pick up the A4 again in the direction of Interlaken. From Geneva, the autoroute leads through Lausanne and Fribourg to Bern, where you catch A6 south, toward Thun. A long, winding, scenic alternative: continue on the autoroute from Lausanne to Montreux, then to Aigle; then, head northeast up the mountain on A11 from Aigle through Château-d'Oex to Gstaad and the Simmental.
