Established in 1875, this old-world spot offers a well-balanced mix of tradition and modern comfort, with starched-collar service. Along with the renovated decor, the traditional Swiss cuisine and homey daily plates have been updated, and now upscale French and Asian creations are also available—tenderloin of pork with balsamic reduction and panfried shiitake noodles could be a good place to start. A sunny front porch overlooks the street, but head for the more formal dining room, opening onto the main promenade.
