Hotel Bellevue Review

Distinguished by its lovely yellow-brick-and-shutter facade, this longtime landmark is a traditional ski lodge with full modern comforts. Almost every room has a tiny balcony or patio, and the decor is fresh pine and gingham. The main dining room is furnished in sleek Swedish woods; the casual Jägerstübli is set around a big fireplace and hunting trophies. Free entry to the nearby Mürren sports center (tops for swimming and the ice rink) is a big plus, especially for families.

    Hotel Bellevue Review

    My husband and I loved our 5-night stay at the charming Hotel Bellevue in Murren, owned and run by Ruth & Othmar Suter. It was the best value for our money out of the 4 hotels we stayed at on our Switzerland trip.

    We stayed in room 23, the newly refurbished superior double room on the second floor. WOW! There is a gorgeous view of the Alps from the little balcony, from the bed, and even from the old-fashioned wooden bathtub, if you sit up tall in the tub! This room also had the best shower on our trip.

    I love the "Swiss country" decor of the room. It's all done in cedar wood, and its charming and comfortable. It's a one-of-a-kind room. I talked to Ruth, the owner, and she said the other rooms are different. Some are more modern.

    Ruth & Othmar and their staff were always helpful and friendly. We felt at home during our stay.

    They also have a dining terrace outside, where we enjoyed stunning views of the Alps every morning at breakfast!

    The hotel is also well-located. It's quiet at night, and it's close to the Coop grocery store & restaurants, and a short walk to the Allmendhubel cable car which carries you up for beautiful hikes above Murren, where we saw beautiful wildflowers blooming at the end of June, and stunning snow-covered peaks of the Alps.

    We are already talking about when we can return to Murren, and we want to stay in the same room. (-: I don't believe I've ever stayed so close to heaven before! (-:
