Restaurant/Café Papiermühle Review
With the splashing of the paper mill's waterwheel in the background, this is a restful spot for lunch or afternoon coffee (it's only open until 6 pm, except on Friday when it's open until midnight). The hand-scrawled chalkboard lists salads, soups, and pasta dishes. After 3 pm hot food is no longer served, but sandwiches and other snacks are available. Hand signals are all you need to order a slice of one of the delicious homemade cakes on display. Sunday mornings find this one of Basel's most popular brunch locations—try the Birchermüsli, the original, creamy, fruity version of muesli.
