Fodor's Review

Popular with businesspeople, the Sheraton is also an ideal hotel for the tourist on a generous budget looking for comfort and luxury. The stylish rooms feature natural tones, cool lighting, refinished bathrooms, and lots of wood detailing. English is the main language at the restaurant and bar, which fill up at night once the DJ arrives.

Sheraton Hotel and Towers Review

Spent two nights here a week ago. Having booked a room with a king bed at the club level, we arrived to be told that they only had a room with two single beds available on that floor, else we could take a room with a "lovely balcony." We chose the balcony room, only to discover that there was nothing lovely about it--the balcony faced a building where construction work was going on and the room was dark and tiny. Back to reception to request a room

change--which finally led us to a nice room. However, the phone wasn't working, the slippers were not there, the towels were very small, and when I asked a housekeeper to leave us extra towels and soap (there was just one bar of soap), I was told that it was hotel policy to give just one big and one small towel per guest, and she would have to ask her supervisor. The request for extra soap was met with an expression as if I was asking for something odd. Needless to say, I had to lurk in the hall to find the housekeeper as the phone wasn't working, and I didn't feel like going back to the reception desk. The only good thing about this place was the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the waitresses extremely pleasant. Would I stay here again? I don't think so.

Disappointing Stay

We were staying at the Sheraton in Stockholm in late September and we didn't find the hotel worth the price. The rooms are clean and the beds are good but they don't have a refrigerators or a safe. Our view was not impressive. We stayed on the 4th floor for fours days and the entire hallway smelled from cigarette smoke. The breakfast buffet was nice but expensive. But my biggest disappointment was the concierge. I approached them for restaurant

recommendations trying to convince a husband who thinks Swedish food only contains herring, meat, fish and potatoes that there are some great culinary experiences to be had in Stockholm. We were recommended to go to some very nice places that were also listed in our tour book. There was no attempts made to help us identify some hidden secrets and to try a variety of places. We ended up having herring, meat, fish, and potatoes every day. While talking to the concierge I felt as if I was bothering them with questions and didn't try to go back.

Stay here if you can get a deal.

This is a first class place, but unless you can obtain a discounted rate or are on an expense account, be prepared to pay top-kroner. I agree with the previous poster; try to get a room with a view of the lake.

Top of the Town

If you want quality, this hotel should be your choice in Stockholm. Everything is first class, and the location is perfect. I recommend that you book a room with lake view.
