This art nouveau monolith, built in 1912 for the Stockholm Olympics, has been completely and tastefully modernized. It's on the water across from the Royal Dramatic Theater and only a short walk from Gamla Stan and the museums on Skeppsholmen, and is close to both tram and bus connections. No two rooms are alike, but all have hardwood floors and are furnished in earth tones and white with simple and elegant furniture.

- some rooms have gorgeous views
- excellent breakfast buffet (albeit not included)
CONS
- cheaper rooms are very small
- some noise from the street and harbor
- some bathrooms are cramped
