Built in 1914, the Mälaren originally traveled the waters of the Göta Canal under the name of Sätra. Today she has to settle for sitting still in Stockholm as a youth hostel. As you might expect, the hostel cabins are small, with bunk beds. However, many have fantastic views of the town hall across the water. There are also five "hotel" rooms, which have private baths and nicer furniture and details. In summer the restaurant offers great views of Stockholm along with basic, traditional Swedish food. Breakfast costs an additional Skr 65, but sheets are included in your rate.
