Car Travel

Avis, Hertz, and Europcar have offices at the airport and the central railway station. Göteborg is reached by car either via the E20 or the E4 highway from Stockholm (495 km [307 mi]) from the east, or on the E6/E20 coastal highway from the south (Malmö is 290 km away). Markings are excellent, and roads are well sanded and plowed in winter.
