This cheery hotel with a sparkling, faux-marble lobby and bright, carpeted hallways is within meters of the CaixaForum and across from the Botanical Garden. Guest rooms are modestly decorated (those on the third and fourth floors are newer) but are large and comfortable; those facing the street have great views of the gardens and the Prado, and double-pane windows keep them fairly quiet. For breakfast and lunch, the café is excellent, affordable, and popular with locals. Pros: Close to all major museums. Cons: Busy and touristy street, uninspiring decor.
