A few blocks from Palacio Real, this charming restaurant is on a callejuela (small street) that's easy to miss. Young chef and sommelier Gonzalo Lara broke away from his father (owner and chef of the acclaimed Laray) to experiment on his own and he's the space with a handful of tables and a few baroque touches: white-and-gold wallpaper, fringed mirrors, and a hanging crystal lamp. The short menu is full of surprises: duck tartare; scrambled eggs with lobster, asparagus, and mushrooms; and an unconventional, although expert, selection of wines.

One of Madrid's best kept secrets, hidden in a beautiful and romantic setting, right next to the Opera and the Royal Palace.I personally find that they serve fantastic food in a unique atmosphere.
I always order the duck tartar-simply delicious-but you also have a fine selection of entrées and fish and meat dishes to choose from.
