La Vaca Verónica

La Vaca Verónica Review

In the golden-age literary quarter, this romantic little hideaway resembling a Parisian bistro with yellow painted walls and antique furniture has built a following for its Argentinian grilled meats (the bandeja de vaca or beef tray, their heartiest offering, also comes with pork sausage, blood pudding, sweetbreads, and potatoes), pescado a la sal (fish cooked in a shell of salt), homemade pastas with various seafood dressings, and terrific salads. The pasta a los carabineros (with scarlet shrimp) is a seductive choice.
