Celler C'an Amer Review

A celler is a uniquely Majorcan combination of wine cellar and restaurant, and Inca has no fewer than six. C'an Amer is the best, with heavy oak beams and huge wine vats lining the walls behind the tables and banquettes. Antonia, the dynamic chef-owner, serves heroic portions of the island's best lechona (suckling pig) and tumbet (vegetables baked in layers). Winter specialties include a superb oxtail soup prepared with red wine and seasonal mushrooms. After lunch, enjoy your coffee around the corner in the pleasant square of Plaça de Santa Maria la Major.

    Celler C'an Amer Review

Celler Can Amer is a hidden gem in Inca, a town in the middle of the island of Mallorca. It used to be an old cellar from the 1700s, where wine was produced in the huge oak barrels that are still part of the decor. In the 1960s, the Torrens-Cantallops family took it over, and now it is run by chef Tomeu Torrens (one of the sons). He offers Mallorcan cuisine, but with his own modern touch. Great authentic atmosphere, and Tomeu usually comes out to talk to all his clients.
