With polished wooden floors and a lively terrace, this seafood-heavy restaurant is a favorite with the university faculty. The caldo gallego, santiaguiños (slipper lobsters), arroz con bogavante (rice with lobster), and seafood empanadas are superb, and local delicacies like angulas (elvers) and lamprey are served seasonally. If options overwhelm you and you can't decide, you might opt for the parrillada de pescados (mixed seafood grill). A Barrola is one of a chain of three restaurants in the area; Casa Elisa and Xantares are both equally popular and within a stone's throw, on Rúa do Franco.
