Fodor's Review

The Renaissance stone facade of this 14th-century building has carvings of shells—an allusion to the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. Inside, a charming courtyard is lined with Renaissance double arches and filled with orange trees. A former hospital, it now houses the Museo Etnográfico Textil Provincial Pérez Enciso (Provincial Ethnographic Textile Museum), with interesting displays of more than 5,000 artifacts, including ancient kitchen tools, textile-manufacturing equipment, and folk dresses. It's the only museum of its kind in Extremadura.
