By Air in Eastern Andalusia with Granada and Cordoba

By Air

There are only very limited direct services from North America to this region, and then only to Málaga International airport (the most important point of arrival for visitors from other European countries). Iberia has daily flights to Málaga from within Spain.

Málaga airport (AGP) on the Costa del Sol is one of Spain's major hubs and therefore a possible access point for Granada, Córdoba, and Almería. These cities are approximately two hours away by car. Granada's airport, Aeropuerto de Granada (GRX), is 18 km (11 mi) west of the city; Almería's airport (LEI) is 9 km (just over 5 mi) east of the city. Seville's San Pablo airport (SVQ) is 10 km (6 mi) east of the city on the main road to Córdoba.

By taxi, which is more convenient as well as more expensive, expect to pay around EUR 17 to the city center and EUR 25 to the Alhambra.

J. González (958/490164) buses (EUR 3) run between the center of Granada and the airport, leaving from the Palacio de Congresos, and making a few other stops along the way to the airport. Times are listed at the bus stop; service is reduced in winter.

Line 14 (950/221422), EUR 0.70, municipal bus service operates between the airport and the city center.
