When To Go

Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit. Summer can be stifling, especially in Córdoba; in winter, temperatures can drop to the 30s, and the wind off the Guadalquivir in Córdoba can be as stiff as any in New England. Granada can be extremely hot in summer, but with its proximity to the towering Sierra Nevada peaks, expect cold and even snow in winter. Note that most monuments close for lunch, anywhere between 1:30 and 4, and most museums are closed on Monday.
